Dave Quirk has a PhD in geoscience and has worked both in industry and academia for 30 years.  Since 2019 he has since worked exclusively on projects related to achieving net zero emissions of greenhouse gases.

As Energy Transition Advisor for DTU Offshore, part of the Technical University of Denmark, as well as Technical Director at the Energy & Sustainability Centre Isle of Man, his current work focuses on pathways to renewable energy on islands involving research into and modelling of low-carbon power systems and grid-scale energy storage.  He is also involved in various public engagement initiatives.
