    Abstract

Close international cooperation has been an important characteristic of the research on fatigue of welded structures in the Nordic countries. Cooperative projects were initiated already in the mid- 1980s and have continued for more than 20 years. Nordic delegates to IIW Commission XIII have surveyed research work in progress in their respective countries. This report is by no means exhaustive of all the work of fatigue of welded structures progressing in this region, but is does provide a cross-section of those activities that has been brought to the attention of the national societies.
