Abstract
Modularisation is an important means for the creation of control
and rationalisation in companies, where the market is demanding
diversification and customization, but at the same time focus on
quality, costs, and dynamics in product development, production
and distribution. This paper has the goal to show modularisation as
an contribution to the rationalisation of the design area, and a
contribution to design preparation. A basic model for design of a
structured product family is presented and examples are shown.
