    Abstract

A velocity drive of the constant acceleration type is described. Two mechanically coupled loudspeakers are used for the production of motion and the measurement of velocity respectively. In order to make the velocity response of the system independent of the mechanical parameters an amplifier having negative output impedance is used, which improves the stability of the system when overall negative feedback is introduced.
