LCP2 (Linear Circuit Program) is developed as an analysis and
optimization tool to be used in the design of passive, active and
digital filters with arbitrary structures. By the aid of an
optimization loop the program may be used to solve nonlinear
design equations for active filter structures or to compensate
designs for the application of nonideal circuit components such as
transmission lines with losses and nonideal operational
amplifiers. The information needed by the program is some target
responses such as the poles and zeros or tabulated responses of
e.g. the magnitude and the group-delay. Output is a set of
corrected component values according to a minimum of some
error-function. The error function may be chosen to be of the
least square, the least "2p", the minimax and the L1-norm type.
Sensitivity information is available from the program together
with the worst-case sensitivity index and the standard deviation
(Shoeffler) sensitivity index.
