Abstract
The startup and steady uniaxial elongational viscosity have been measured for three bidisperse
polystyrene (PS) melts, consisting of blends of monodisperse PS with molecular weights of 52 kg/mole or
103 kg/mole and 390 kg/mole. The bidisperse melts have a maximum in the steady elongational viscosity,
of up to a factor of 7 times the Trouton limit of 3 times the zero-shear viscosity.
