Ultrahigh Capacity Optical Communications Beyond Pb/s

    Abstract

    Recent progress in ultrahigh capacity optical communication technologies based on space-division multiplexing is described including one Pb/s transmission in a newly developed multi-core fiber with future perspectives for more capacity.
