abstract = "The TRACT-subproject constitutes one of the main field programmes of EUROTRAC (the Eureka environmental project) {"}European experiment on transport and transformation of environmentally relevant trace constituents in the troposphere over Europe{"}. Observations collected during the TRACT experimental campaign (conducted in September 1992) have ben divided into nine databases. Database\#4 (DB\#4), which is described here, contains the surface measurements including deposition. Most of the data is meteorological although the database also contains ozone and nitrogen dioxide measurements. Considerable effort has been spent in standardising the data including supplying standard variable names and missing data codes. DB\#4 has been constructed within Paradox although it can be translated into any relational database. Following the database description is a detailed report of the data available from each of the stations which includes a station description, if one was supplied. Also given is a preliminary comparison of the data.",
