Abstract
The concept of Problem Solving Environment (PSE) as proposed by Gallopoulos, Houstis and Rice is analyzed from the point of view of small projects. A distinction between Model Analysis Programs (MAPs) and PSEs for buiding them is introduced. An architecture for such a PSE is presented, centered on a MAP structure, which kernel is a data flow graph, while logical control is manipulated by input and output "boards", modelled over the notion of a decision table.
