Thermomechanical behaviour and finite element modelling of metal matrix composites

Research output: Contribution to journalJournal articleResearchpeer-review

    Abstract

Experimental observations of the behavior of aluminum based composites are compared with finite element micromechanical model predictions. The composites are reinforced with whiskers of SiC and the following phenomena are discussed: (i) Dislocation configurations and strain distributions, (ii) Flow stress in tension at room temperature, (iii) Crystallographic texture after cold-rolling and recrystallization.
