    Abstract

The axis symmetry breaking meniscus instability that occurs under certain conditions at the endplates in the transient filament stretching apparatus is investigated experimentally and with numerical simulations. We use a 12 wt% solution of high molecular weight PS as a model fluid for polymeric melts.
