Abstract
This project considered the quantifiable dynamics of fish growth, natural mortality, and recruitment in numerous stocks in the North Sea. By gaining expertise on how these vital rates vary, how to model them, and their potential consequences, we prepare for the future of fisheries in the North Sea.
Additionally, part of the project performed a management strategy evaluation for each of the four stocks in the 2022-2024 sandeel benchmark to calculate sustainable reference points and the expected outcomes from the harvest control rule.
