A method for treating heterogenities in diffusion calculations for a reactor is described. It is done by means of the Υ-matrix concept. The heterogenity is treated as a black box, and the Υ-matrix provides the coupling between the diffusion calculation and the black box. A Monte Carlo code, MOVAX, for calculationg the Υ-matrix for a cruciform BRW control is described.
