The effects of meal size, body size and temperature on gastric evacuation in pikeperch

Research output: Contribution to journalJournal articleResearchpeer-review

Abstract

Prey size had no effect on the gastric evacuation rate of pikeperch Stizostedion lucioperca. The gastric evacuation was adequately described applying an exponent of 0.5 in the power model. Applying length instead of weight of pikeperch in the gastric evacuation model resulted in a change of estimated parameters, in accordance with the weight-length relationship of pikeperch.
