Abstract
A test program to emulate the stress states experienced by the chalk close to a well during production under relevant flow rates was designed and carried out to investigate the effect of flow rate on the stability of well bore. For this purpose, a cylindrical specimen was laterally drilled at the center. As loading phase, load was applied under constant stress ratio and drained condition to reach the level of in-situ stresses. Then the hole is subjected to relevant flow rates. The CT scan images shows the flow rate has little effect on the stability.
