Abstract
A combined tracer model, based on a Lagrangian meso-scale model and an Eulerian long-range transport model, for studying transport and dispersion of passive tracers caused by a single but strong source is presented. The combined model is briefly described and it is explained why it is worthwhile to apply a combination of two models in tracer simulations. A 3-dimensional version of the model is under development and some preliminary results from the first ETEX release will be shown. A short video has been made containing an animation of the development of the plumes from the Chernobyl accident and the two ETEX-releases.
