Abstract
X-ray diffraction diagrams taken with Cu-K(alpha) radiation in a
Bragg-Brentano diffractometer have shown that the La0.8Sr0.2CrO3
powders, synthesized by drip/spray pyrolysis in a rotating tube
furnace at 600-700 oC, contained SrCrO4, in addition to the
ceramic perovskite phase. By means of Rietveld powder profile
multiphase refinements, the structure of the SrCrO4 compound was
determined, crystallizing in the monoclinic space group P21/n (no.
14), with lattice parameters a = 6.73 Å, b = 7.33 Å, c = 7.07 Å, b
= 104 degrees and Z = 4. The structure is similar to the structure
of SrSeO4, as given in the literature.
