Abstract
Although Lean Manufacturing has been a megatrend for several years, its principles have not been broadly applied in product development processes. We have therefore found it useful to look into the theories of lean manufacturing and to discuss how and to what extent they could be applied in the product development processes, and this study is compared with industrial practices in several front running companies in Denmark.
From this research a suggestion for a framework and a tool-box for lean product development is created and discussed from a HR management, an implementation, an operational and an effectiveness point of view.
