    Abstract

In this work we present a test platform for the rapid prototyping of power electronic converters. The platform consists of a Texas Instruments (TI) digital-signal-controller (DSC) TMS320F28379D connected to an Opal-RT real-time digital simulator capable of hardware-in-the-Ioop (HIL) simulations. Both the HIL simulator and the DSC are programmed based on Matlab/Simulink, with the latter making use of the embedded coder for the C2000 processors family. The proposed test platform allows high flexibility and fast development for control of power electronic converters, all based on a single software development environment. A complete specification of the platform components and a corresponding step-by-step implementation is presented. An example of a grid connected single-phase T-type converter illustrates the system operation and the platform capabilities.
