    Abstract

The article consists of a Powerpoint presentation on technologies for optical processing. The paper concludes that the nonlinear elements based on SOA, fibers and waveguide structures have capabilities of simple processing at data rates of 100-600 Gb/s. Switching powers comparable to electronics. Photonic bandgap structures and nanowaveguides have potential for more compact photonic circuits. Nanostructures in switching at the very beginning plasmons may be useful for more compact photonic signal processing elements.
