Abstract
This paper presents the results of subjective listening tests designed to determine whether the output filter on class D amplifiers used in active loudspeakers
can be omitted without audible errors occurring. The frequency range of the amplifiers was limited to 0-3 kHz corresponding to a woofer or midrange unit. A li
stening panel of 7 persons were used in the test which showed that no audible errors could be detected.
