Abstract
This work is part of a demonstration project where iSpin spinner anemometer uncertainty components were analysed at sites categorized as flat and semi-complex, complex and offshore.
The objective of the present work is to identify and quantify the relevant uncertainty components for:
• Intra-turbine power curve measurements: for a single turbine and its own Spinner Transfer Function (STF);
• Inter-turbine power curve measurements: when transferring an STF to another WTG in the same site or another site.
The scope of work encompasses the development of an appropriate uncertainty analysis method for use of spinner anemometers. Relevant uncertainty components for intra-turbine power curve analysis (power curve measurements at the same turbine) and inter-turbine power curve analysis (power curve measurements at different turbines of the same type at the same site and at a different site) shall be identified and quantified based on robustness proof findings coming from work packages WP3 to WP5 in the demonstration project. Measures or criteria to minimize or eliminate uncertainty components shall be developed. Measures to minimize uncertainty components will include use of turbulence and yaw misalignment measurements by the spinner anemometer.
For this purpose, the sensitivity of the STF to given variables was analysed studying the ratio existing between the reference measurements from a met mast and the iSpin spinner anemometer measurements.
This report D7.3 is part of uncertainty components reports using iSpin spinner anemometer for power curves and is referring to the complex site Complex site (Turbine type A). Input by 3rd party on results from other complex sites are considered and processed.
The work takes place in the Performance Transparency Project (PTP), sponsored by EUDP under the name “Large Spinner Anemometer Performance Demonstration Project” with the EUDP Journal number: 64016-0059.
