Abstract
Although the shipbuilding industry is among the oldest and most traditional heavy industries in the world, it was also among the first to recognise the advantages of computers in the design and productionprocesses. Today the computer is an indispensable tool in the total design phase ranging fromthe feasibility study to the final working drawings.
