    Abstract

    The finite element method is applied to the multigroup neutron diffusion equations. General formulas are given for Lagrange type elements. Description of some 2D- and one JO computer code is given. Several investigations are described and the results are presented. The capability of the 3D code is demonstrated on the 3D IAEA Benchmark problem. Suggestions for further work are given.
