Abstract
The governing equation for Hele Shaw flow of power-law fluids is considered. The equation, which is elliptic for power-law index n > 0, is shown to have an equivalent variational integral. The solution exhibits singular behavior at corners. The singularity may be analyzed exactly, and is shown to be algebraic. Conditions under which the singularity is integrable are given.
