    Abstract

This paper presents a suggestion for systematic collection of data during the normal use of training simulators, with the double purpose of supporting trainee debriefing and providing data for further theoretical studies of operator performance. The method is based on previously described models of operator performance and decision-making, and is a specific instance of the general method for analysis of operator performance data. The method combines a detailed transientspecific description of the expected performance with transient-independent tools for observation of critical activities.
