Abstract

In this work alkali earth metal molybdate catalysts with Mo:M = 1.0 and 1.1 stoichi-ometry have been synthesized and tested for the selective oxidation of methanol to formaldehyde in a lab scale fixed bed reactor setup. Excess Mo gave better initial activity and selectivity but a higher rate of deactivation during 100 h on stream.
