Abstract

This PhD project aims to improve digitization of biotechnology by developing a streamlined platform for high-throughput protein expression analysis. The platform employs gene library generation, fluorescence- and luminescence-based protein assays and multiplexed Nanopore sequencing for rapid detection of soluble protein expression. The platform identified several producible fragments within five proteins which were further analyzed computationally. Python was used to analyze the data and investigate the future possibilities for making machine learning tools for predicting protein solubility. The resulting platform can be operated efficiently by a single user and and provides a basis for more cost-efficient protein-expression data generation.
