    Abstract

This paper proposes a novel ripple manipulator for REG-integrated electrical vehicle(EV) charging infrastructure system. By connecting to two portals of this converter separately, local energy storage equipment and EVs can work simultaneously in high-frequency pulse charging/discharging mode. Furthermore, the purposely designed pulse charging mode is potential to extend the battery service life. With specific controlling strategy, it is quick and efficient for this converter to calculate relative duty ratios to compensate for power variations as stochastic nature of renewable energy and charging demands. Through power balancing methods with three various time scales, the DC link voltage ripple will be manipulated securely and and economically. The effectiveness of the proposed ripple manipulator is confirmed through simulation results.
