    Abstract

This paper proposes two innovative schemes to ensure a reliable MPLS Transport Profile multicast service based on interconnected-ring structure. The proposed Two Working Paths Multicast Service uses both directions of the ring as working paths which increases the network resource efficiency. The proposed Flow-based Hierarchical Operation-Administration-Maintenance Function is hierarchically operated for each multicast flow, which avoids the overwhelming burden on the Ingress node and is able to monitor independent multicast traffic flow’s status to implement traffic engineering. The capabilities and preponderances of proposed schemes are validated by analyzing the results collected from OPNET simulation models.
