Abstract

This article answers the comments raised by Denton et al. on Vinther et al.'s work on synchronised Holocene Greenland ice core dating. Comments were made regarding the GRIP ice core tephra layer ages' association to the Aniakchak eruption as opposed to the Minoan Thera eruption. This article presents additional literature data supporting Vinther et al.'s claims of distinguishability between the Aniachak and Thera tephra in the GRIP ice cores.
