    Abstract

    Integration of large wind farms in distribution and transmission systems may have severe influence on the power quality at the connection point and may also influence the voltage controlling capability of the electrical system. The purpose of the described project has been to develop and investigate the use of a STATCOM by modelling and field testing an 8 MVar unit in a 24 MW wind farm.
