Pulse-distortion in a quantum-dot optical amplifier

    Abstract

    Distortion of a -150fs optical pulse after propagation through an InAs/InGaAs quantum-dot optical amplifier is measured for different input energies an bias currents. Pulse distortion is observed and compared with results on a bulk amplifier.
