Abstract
End-to-end QoS provisioning is still a challenging
task despite many years of research and development in this
area. Considering GMPLS based core/metro network and RSVP
capable Home Gateways it is the access part of the network where
QoS signaling is bridged. In this paper we propose strategies
for GMPLS control over next emerging PON standard i.e., XGPON.
Node management, resource allocation approaches are
discussed and possible issues are raised. The analysis show that
consideration of XG-PON as GMPLS controlled domain is valid
and may advance end-to-end QoS provisioning for PON based
customers.
