Abstract
The analytical solution for the canonical configuration with electric line source illumination of concentric metamaterial cylinders is employed to study the properties of the
observed sub-wavelength resonances. The near- and far-field distributions, the frequency and geometry bandwidths, and the line source impedance are investigated for varying electromagnetic and geometrical parameters. The results of this study are of importance for metamaterial-based
miniaturization of antennas.
