Abstract
This text is to give an overview of the necessary background to do
investigation of pressure transients via simulations. It will
describe briefly the Method of Characteristics which is the
defacto standard for simulating pressure transients. Much of the
text has been adopted from the book Pressure surge in pipe and
duct systems by Swaffield & Boldy, 1993.
