Abstract

We newly propose a photonic dynamic channel allocation (DCA) for optical-frequency-interleaved dense wavelength division multiplexed (DWDM) millimeter-waveband (mm-wave-band) radio-over-fiber (RoF) systems. Two types of remote nodes (RNs) equipped with an optical crossconnect switch, a novel simple wavelength demultiplexer and multiplexer, which have a function of the photonic DCA, are investigated. We experimentally demonstrate for the first time an error-free photonic DCA operation of four-channel and sixchannel 60-GHz-band RoF signals over 25-km plus 2-km standard single-mode fibers with 25-GHz channel spacing.
