Photon Number Filtering using Dynamically Coupled Cavities

Abstract

We numerically investigate using dynamically coupled nonlinear cavities to modify the photon number of incident optical pulses. By optimizing the instantaneous coupling rate, we convert a coherent state to a single-photon with over 99% efficiency.
