Abstract
The cathode reaction on YSZ electrolytes shows inductive
hysteresis behavior with an activation/deactivation process of the
cell. This is described by a phenomenological model, where the
rate of activation is proportional to the current density and the
rate of deactivation is proportional to the activation. A way to
realize this could be a change of the length of the active three
phase boundary.
