title = "Overview of Security Challenges in Wireless IoT Infrastructures for Autonomous Vehicles",
abstract = "The Internet of Things (IoT) has experienced significant growth in recent years, thanks to the proliferation of connected devices. One of the most promising applications of IoT is in the development of autonomous vehicles (AVs), which have the potential to revolutionize the way we travel. AVs are equipped with a vast amount of code, exceeding 100 million lines, and are designed to interact with various systems, including mobile devices, to provide users with a seamless and safe experience. The integration of IoT technology in AVs enables a range of innovative features, such as real-time weather and navigation updates, communication of safety information, and remote monitoring of the vehicle{\textquoteright}s surroundings. However, the increased reliance on wireless connectivity also creates security and privacy concerns. This chapter provides an overview of the wireless IoT infrastructure in AVs and the associated security challenges. We discuss the various components of the AV architecture and the potential vulnerabilities that can be exploited by malicious actors. Furthermore, we highlight the importance of implementing robust security measures to protect the safety and privacy of passengers and ensure the secure operation of AVs.",
