Abstract
In order to obtain insight in the nature of nonlinear oscillators
the eigenvalues of the linearized Jacobian of the differential
equations describing the oscillator are found and displayed as
functions of time. A number of oscillators are studied including
Dewey's oscillator (piecewise linear with negative resistance),
Kennedy's Colpitts-oscillator (with and without chaos) and a new
4'th order oscillator with hyper-chaos.
