Orbital Angular Momentum Mode Multiplexing and Data Transmission using a Silicon Photonic Integrated MUX

Abstract

We present a wavelength-independent orbital angular momentum mode-multiplexing chip-design and characterize a newly fabricated chip. We use the chip to simultaneously transmit three OAM modes, each carrying 10-Gbit/s OOK data, over an 800-m ring-core fiber.
