    Abstract

The project investigates the optimization of current focusing X- and gamma ray
telescopes, by introducing a Dual Material Multi-layer (DMM) coating. The material combination of Nickel/Carbon + Wolfram/Carbon is investigated, where a new parameter is introduced that defines the DMM structure, abbreviated β. The DMM is evaluated using the HEX-P geometry and a coating recipe setup similar to NuSTAR. It is shown that a DMM coating (0 < β < 1) induces an increase in the computed effective area.
