abstract = "Research in the Optics and Fluid Dynamics Department is performed within two sections- The Optics Section has activities within (a) optical materials, (b) quasi-elastic light scattering and diagnostics in solids, fluids and plasmas, and (c) optical and electronic information processing. The Continuum Physics Section performs (a) studies of nonlinear dynamical processes in continuum systems, (b) investigations of other problems in fusion plasma physics, and (c) develops pellet injectors for fusion experiments. Most of these activities are done in connection with the Euratom Association. A summary of activities in 1992 is presented.",
