Abstract
The authors investigate power supply noise in mixed
analogue-digital circuits, arising from communication between the
analogue and digital parts of the circuit. Current steering
techniques and proper buffering are used to show which noise
currents can be reduced and which cannot. In addition, a
high-swing current steering buffer for driving analogue switches
or external digital signals is proposed.
