The wind resource at the selected Danish offshore sites at Horns Rev, Læsø Syd, Omø Stålgrunde, Rødsand and Gedser Rev has been investigated. The results show somewhat higher wind resources than calculated using the standard methods for wind resource estimation at land sites. For the sites at which we have on site measurements (those in the ELKRAFT area) the present results show about 10% higher yearly energy production than obtained by using a standard wind climate in combination with a 'regional correction'. All of the calculations were done using a model 1.5 MW wind turbine at a hubheight of 48m. The data available for this analysis were limited to fairly short timeseries and further analysis will be done as longer timeseries of data become available from the instrumented sites. The results for the sites in the ELSAM area for which on site data were available.
