NorPEF - LCA April 2021 Workshop Report: Workshop on 26 April 2021 on Nordic Dialog on life cycle assessment aspects of the EU Environmental Footprint methodology

The workshop held online on 26 April 2021 regarding Nordic cooperation on topics of life cycle assessment (LCA) in relation to the EU Environmental Footprint (EF) development process was attended by 44 participants from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Most of the participants were experts from Nordic universities, but also private companies, authorities, NGOs, EPD bodies and technical institutes
were present.

First point of the agenda was a progress report from the European Commission on the EF initiative. After that, during seven sessions with seven topics, important aspects of LCA related to the EF were debated by the participants. The topics were:

 Session A1 on Biodiversity and land-use
 Session A2 on Environmental claims, eco-labelling and green procurement
 Session A3 on End-of-Life, waste, recycling and circular footprint formula
 Session B1 on Allocation between co-products
 Session B2 on Harmonisation EPD-PEF
 Session B3 on Electricity modelling, supplier specific vs grid mix
 Session B4 on Biomass, biochemical and biomaterials
