Abstract
A device for enhancement of the grip in C5/6 spinal cord lesioned
tetraplegics is under development. It uses the myoelectric signal
from the paretic wrist extensor for control of electrical
stimulation of the same muscle. The tetraplegics shall with the
device be able to obtain a passive grip between the thumb an the
index finger by extension of the wrist. Surface electrodes are
used for myoelectric recording and stimulation. Main problems are
filtering of the recorded signal and stimulation. Solutions to
these problems are addressed and discussed.
