In this report we present a music data harvesting system based on a
plug-in for a popular music player. When a user is playing a song
using the plug-in, information about the song is anonymously
submitted to a server. The data gathered using MIRANDA is intended
to be released to the MIR community. We argue that even though
content-based data is of interest to the community, also meta
data and usage data can be important for research in music
similarity.
