Milliwatt-level multi-MHz THz wave generation in the organic crystal HMQTMS with a compressed fiber laser

Abstract

We demonstrate 1.4 milliwatt average power, broadband terahertz generation extending up to 6 THz at 10 MHz repetition rate through optical rectification in the organic crystal HMQ-TMS. The pump source is based on a simple external pulse compression scheme for the generation of ultra-short pulses using compact Yb:fiber laser technology.
